Is The Walking Dead getting stale?

I caught up with all the recent episodes and I got pretty bored grinding through them. The whole formula of the good guys going to a new destination only for it to fall into shambles quickly is getting so old.

I know the show is more about survival drama and human behavior, but I really want some more information about how the infection even started. it seems to me that the show will continue for a long time with nothing significant about the disease plot ever being advanced. They're just going to go across the U.S. at this point finding safe places, with people dying and them having to escape into the woods and do everything over again.

I did like the Governor and his arc, as well as them going to Terminus.

Me too. I feel like I have to know how it ends but I know it won't until years from now.

It's more of a chore I have to do nowadays.
