Fifth Harmony - Reflection

A girl group for all the Mariah and Beyonce stans. Still though, I think their biggest inspirations are the Spice Girls seeing how much of their material revolves around girl power and self love, and while they're sold as "R&B" I definitely think they lean way more Pop than they like to think. Works for me!

Erykah Badu - But You Cain't Use My Phone

I got SUPER excited when I heard we were getting new Erykah material, but I expect sort of an album mixtape, not an actual mixtape mixtape. My bad. She does covers of classics, new songs, and a few new songs. All are centered around making phones... odd, but considering it was inspired by Hotline Bling I guess I get it.
Top 3: But You Cain't Use My Phone, Dialafreq, U Don't Have to Call

Panda Bear - Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper

This album is definitely one of those you get over quickly, but it's really good. The best track was something we already had though, but whatever. The ballads/slower songs are hit and miss but I'm glad he gave us a lot of different styles to digest.

Brown Eyed Girls - Basic

Ok, this album was SUPER front-loaded. After track 4 I was lke OMG! New top 10 entry!!! Then It's not like the 2nd half is bad, but this should have been an EP, not a new album. I feel like Brown Eyed Girls have some of the best chemistry of modern Kpop girl groups, and it shines on the standouts.
Top 3: Warm Hole, Brave New World, Wave

Namie Amuro - _Genic

Namie Amuro, Jpop legend, plays the EDM chanteuse with mostly amazing results! I think a lot of people were turned off by her decision to have the album be mostly in English but I guess I just don't care that much. She has this domineering presence in her music that makes me want to trust her.
Top 3: B Who I Want 2 B, Golden Touch, Time has Come

Selena Gomez - Revival

Selena always had amazing singles, and now she has a pretty good album. Stars Dance was cute but Revival is a lot more consistent, even with the tail end being a bit of a let-down. She gives us class, ass, and sass, and effortlessly reminds us why her talentless ass is better than Demi and Miley: her taste level is THERE.
Top 3: Good For You, Revival, Same Old Love

Janet Jackson - Unbreakable

I wanted this album to be higher, but it just isn't true! Janet deifnitely won though by releasing her slow jam-esque songs. Since that sound was already in she could basically feel free to be Janet while fitting right in the with music market. However, an album full of these songs is too much, and since Janet is obsessed with making 2 hour long albums it's just TEW much at points.

Beach House - Depression Cherry

Beach House released another Beach House album. Surprise! This is better than the other album they released though.
Top 3: Sparks, PPP, Levitation

Chemical Brothers - Born in the Echoes

Their best release in a damn while features amazing guest vocalists and some intense and attention grabbing material. They still got it!
