Ok I'll just make a smaller (file size avi) The cool thing is you can make hd avi's aka make them 250x250 but you just have to keep the file size below 1mb
wait so I have to say bye to my Avril avatar for sure :toosad:
IPB only allows avatars and cover photos to be stored on the server. If you compare it with what we have now as "Primary Avatars", the limit is jumping from 40kbs to 1mb. That kind of jump may have a big hit on server performance, so we can't just raise the limit to whatever we want. We need to evaluate overall performance post-launch and work it out along the way.
The high quality avatar system we have now uses external links, so the file size doesn't impact performance at all, but it's not supported in IPB because it's far more vulnerable to malware. Just this year we were blacklisted by Google for that reason.
We have some ideas for better solutions, but for now, don't expect an increase. Cover photos will have a set limit as well (during the beta it was unlimited).
Not really, there's a lot to do. This is the last version before the launch.
If you read what Athens said they're also transferring all the data from the old ATRL too.
He said it might be a few days.
Oh ok. Yeah there is a lot to transfer. Thanks for the update.
