Sis, you've never been to Oaxaca and Gerrero? People in the coast of both state is monstly Afro-Mexicans. I grow up in the coast of Oaxaca and basically half of my classmates were black people. They have their own culture and they are really proud of who they are

My grandmas mom is from Veracruz and she was black. It's not rare, it's just that most reside in certain states of the country.
