Discussion: Artists You Hated Before You Loved

I hated Lana Del Rey so much. Her voice scratched my head, idk I was just annoyed of her voice. Then, I had this very weird thing with her music: every time I try to love her and give Video Games a go, I would immediately get a migraine. Idk why. I really don't know why. Then, after months, I came back to her.

Wow. I've mistaken the voice of an angel. I love her, she's the most emotive girl in the game and I love her. She's so real and surreal, she's so artistic, she's also the most beautiful singer. I love her.

I used to hate Lana, then I used to stan Lana and now I just casually dislike Lana.

Sky Ferreira and Mac Demarco annoyed the hell out of me, but I'd never heard their music at that time

also I hate Rolling In The Deep and Someone Like You, so overplayed and annoying, but HELLO is such a MASTERPIECE! Makes me love Adele more

Justin Bieber before Purpose. I literally could not stand him, he made my skin crawl and I reacted to his music like someone was dripping poison in his ears. But I semi-stan now.

I hated Charli before TR, and I didn't really adore her until SUCKER.

I used to hate Kesha, but I know think she's actually one of the better pop girls.

I still hate Sufjan Stevens but I'm starting to wonder if I should reconsider.

Ariana Grande. I disliked her so much when she initially put out Put Your Hands Up. Then she relesed The Way, and everything changed since then.

I hated JB during his debut era 'cause my friend was like crazy obsessed with him and I hated her so I had to hate him too. But now I'm a full-fledged fan

Yeah, Lana for me, too. Except it was more about her later releasing music that I liked rather than me coming around on her older stuff.

I still don't like Born to Die, it's just not good. But she got progressively better after that. Paradise EP is cute, Ultraviolence is incredible. Honeymoon is a step down from Ultraviolence as I see it but there are a couple of gems that demonstrate her growth from her debut.

I talked a lot of **** about Lana before I even gave her Born To Die album a chance. I just didn't get why everyone liked her and her songs so much on here and on tumblr until that one night when the title track on the album was the free track of the week on iTunes

I honestly think she was the artist that made me get into alternative sounding songs and I love the genre now. Crazy

Lana for like a month or two after Video Games then ignored her for months and then Ride came about and I stanned HARD. Now I'm a full time Lana stan and she's probably the artist I love the most if not stan for the most (behind Gaga).
