Mariah concerts get stellar reviews
The Queen of Christmas began her second annual Christmas residency in New York this week and opened to nothing but great reviews!
Digital Journal:
Quote:
Mariah Carey was fantastic at New York's Beacon Theatre. She interacted well with the audience and put them in the Christmas spirit. Her vocals were heavenly and impeccable. Her live "All I Want For Christmas Is You" holiday show earned 5 out of 5 stars, and she is worth seeing live whenever she is in town.

The powerhouse's voice appeared in tip-top form as she ran through a string of her most beloved holiday hits including "Silent Night" and "Jesus What a Wonderful Child" from 1994's "Merry Christmas" and "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" and "Charlie Brown Christmas" from the 2010 follow-up.

Mariah Carey wows at sold-out Christmas concert. A half-step into the intro of “O Holy Night” and we’re again all squirming in our seats, goosebumps on the ready for that famous tear-jerking soprano reminder of what a Christmas concert—and any other concert, for that matter—was made for.
Not one to forget her roots, she immediately throws in a quick “best of” medley—“Emotions,” “We Belong Together” and the eerily apt “Hero”—before bringing the house down, gold confetti from the rafters, with the titular crowd-pleaser “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” New Yorkers may have seen it all, but real reindeer or not, this season MC definitely knows the place to be.

Last night at the Beacon Theatre I watched Mariah Carey hit the high notes I'd hoped to hear (and not, 'cause some of those notes are beyond human recognition), run scales with the stair-taking might of Rocky Balboa, turn screaming fans into emotional puddles simply by offering a second of eye contact, charm her way through stage banter honed by two and a half decades of spotlit experience, and generally spread her personalized blend of holiday cheer.
The power of Mariah Carey's holiday-championing prowess is a force to be reckoned with...
