For me, I just don't find western male singers that interesting. They don't particularly bring as much as their female peers either.
You'll get what I mean if you look at the difference between male KPOP idols and groups and say, Sam Smith. Simply because they bring a lot more to the table. Charisma, personality and attitude play a part in catching interest and most western male artists a just basic heteronormative singers.
Honestly the only male artist I've ever cared to search for this year was Nick Jonas because Jealous was my bop.
I prefer the sound of a female voice too as with the sass and expressiveness you never get from a male artist.
Girls are more interesting performance and fashion wise. Musically sometimes too. Men I actually find more generic, a lot sound like carbon copies. I like music with personality and I find a lot of male music to be drained of that.
