*reads Double Rainbow lyrics*
I can see where Sia got bored. If Katy started (over-)analyzing those "puzzling" (read: incredibly simple) lyrics, I'd get bored too.
There was absolutely nothing wrong with what Sia said. As an overly analytical person myself, I can relate to Katy's style far more than I can to Sia's, but that's just me. Everyone is different and has different ways of working on their craft.
I don't see how people can misconstrue what she said as if it was bad to the point that she had to say Katy is one of her faves. Like all she was saying is that they write differently???
What do Sherlock Holmes and Albert Einstein have in common? (No, this is not the start of a joke.) They were both analytical*— meaning they were good at breaking down problems into smaller parts to find solutions.
The adjective,*analytical,*and the related verb*analyze*can both be traced back to the Greek verb,*analyein*— "to break up, to loosen." If you are analytical, you are good at taking a problem or task and breaking it down into smaller elements in order to solve the problem or complete the task. The opposite type of problem-solving is called the intuitive approach in which a person senses the correct action to take without proof or reasoning. Analytic*can be substituted for*analytical*in this sense.
So Katy is the modern Albert Einstein, and Sia uses the opposite of analytics "intuitive approach" to write songs...my, you learn something new everyday.
The media has been vicious towards Katy this year. Like, what Sia said wasn't even shade or mean and yet the media turned it into some "Sia drags Katy Perry" story.
