Probably Democrat. The Republican Party has been in trouble for a while due to their lack of appeal to a large majority of the younger voting population and that will hurt them. Further, their leading candidates are so... out there that it's not going to help them win swing voters over.
Also, another issue is if they choose Trump as their nominee, then people who don't like him and aren't Republican will most likely vote Democrat. And moderate Republicans may vote Democrat (I know so many Republicans who can't stand him). But, it also depends on the Democratic nominee. But, if Trump doesn't get it, his fan base would fume over it. I could also see him running independent and that might jeopardize any chance of a Republican winning.
The Republican's best choice would probably Rubio, honestly. I pray to God it's not Carson.
