I live in NYC in manhattan so pretty much they're like 10 gays to each block, even in urban areas like harlem, not to mention hells kitchen, west/east village, chelsea are all gay friendly and have lots of hunties everywhere u turn
My university is pretty great, and I guess my state does some things right (i.e. we had marriage equality several years ago, some anti-discrimination policies), but we have a lot of small towns with very conservative, religious populations... including my hometown.
So it's a bit mixed bag, but still miles ahead of, like, the deep south.
Yes. It can go either way in Upstate NY I guess but Albany/capital region is quite LGBT+ friendly from what I've grown up around and seen. I feel lucky to be here
I guess. I live in a liberal state that was the first to legalize gay marriage, but if I even mentioned being gay I'd get jumped by my family and thrown out of the house sooo..
