a lot of people believe that going vegan or strictly vegetarian is a healthier choice but it's not. most of the vegans i know look sickly. as much as vegetarians and vegans like to pretend otherwise, the human body was designed to assimilate nutrients from both meat and vegetable matter.
Quote:
Most of our features related to eating - namely our teeth and digestive tract - are in the range that is typical for omnivores. Combined with the fact that we can digest meat and use its nutrients relatively well (in comparison to predominantly herbivorous animals), that is a strong indicator that we indeed evolved to be omnivores.

Quote:
Humans are classic examples of omnivores in all relevant anatomical traits. There is no basis in anatomy or physiology for the assumption that humans are pre-adapted to the vegetarian diet. For that reason, the best arguments in support of a meat-free diet remain ecological, ethical, and health concerns.
