Well that begs the question: Why did it take 20, 30, 40 women to come forward before we believed Bill did it? Why was one not enough? And why is one not enough now?
She was put in a horrible position. No one with the means would let their brother languish in a cell when there is even the faintest possibility that he isn't guilty.
The fact that we're thinking of ulterior motives and acting as if "innocent until proven guilty" is the end all-be all (Bill Cosby? George Zimmerman? All these killer cops? Sometimes we have to be real with ourselves without a verdict.) is disgusting. Exactly why Nicki bailing him out is a problem. For some reason, we don't typically believe rape victims and take them seriously. The rape culture in the US, and in the world, is astounding frankly. All of the things you people are saying are very telling. And saying 'HER BROTHER!!!' doesn't help, either. People's 'brothers' rape all the time. Same with fathers and uncles and cousins. Sometimes the person we know is not always the person other's know. He can have been the best brother in the world, that does not mean he in incapable of rape.
I don't see why people should automatically believe a rape accuser (since that is what we're talking about here, an accuser who we're not sure is an actual victim). Why is going through the process of an investigation and trial not enough? "Be real with ourselves without a verdict"? Maybe for a case where there was evidence piled up but here there is nothing right now but an accusation.
I'd agree with you if the kid was a teenager. Not a 12 yo... Do you go around claiming the same for women who claim to have been raped. Do you not believe them as well... You should take off your stan goggles and realize you're quite possibly trying to defend a pedophile. If more people come forward with this, more parents/kids, nicki's the one who'll suffer even though she has nothing to do with this technically. That's all I'm saying.
But some women do lie about being raped(or do we pretend those don't exist either?). I'm not defending anyone but i'm not going to go guns blazing with out evidence. I said before if he did do it then he deserves to rot, but if not i'm not going to accuse him
I think maybe the best thing to do here is to just keep our mouths shut. You have people insinuating that the little girl could be lying and you have people adamant that her brother is guilty. It's a gross thing to be fighting about.
