I don't know what some of you are trying to prove, look at Beyonce for example if anyone released a song like 7/11, they would have been trashed and the song would've probably been called one of the worst songs but because it was Beyonce, everybody loved the song. Adele deserves her success, she writes beautiful melodies and has such a beautiful strong vocals, end of story.

They don't know what star power is It's actually shocking. 25 wouldn't have been successful if it wasn't for 21? You could say that for every pop star out there lol.

This may be true in regards to what you think is important when it comes to music, but Aretha CHANGED music history, she helped cement a place for black R&B singers, especially women, to make music. She is literally a historical musical icon. She also did all this during a time when racism made typical life almost impenetrable to black people.

It's sad when people on a music forum don't understand the implications of artists outside of what country they had a #1 album in.

Well its not shade at all. All I see his compliments. Time puts every artist into context and thats basically what she is saying and its true. But Adele has the voice to be up there with the greats. Every critic always praises her voice and the choices she makes vocally.

But that doesnt detract from what Adele is achieving right now. She is dominating the music business in a way thats rarely been seen. Probably only Elvis Presley, the Beatles and Michael Jackson have been this dominant in history.

All of this.

Aretha is a legend. This isn't even debatable.
