The United States of America is the most powerful country in the world, and not for many good reasons, especially when a large portion of its citizens - as well as many other countries in the world - have suffered for the high costs (> $700 billion).

Russia and China's budget combined doesn't even match that of the U.S. High taxes? People starving? Racial injustice?

Where's India? Would have thought that would have mentioned over Switzerland at least, not to mention Germany. Aren't France and the UK more powerful than DE now? I think people just remember the World Wars and think they're still HBIC.

Had a quick search, and man power alone: India has over a million more than Germany. Her decline!

? India has an immensely powerful military, 4th or 5th most powerful in the world, and has an increasingly large and wealthy middle class despite its hundreds of millions or poor people. It is certainly well behind China, but is nonetheless an emerging power.

OT: USA is still the most powerful and will remain so for the next few decades until China overtakes them.
