And some of these songs were not only rejects, but also songs that were made with specific intentions or even under instructions (Diamonds 2.0 etc). She also admitted she doesn't even care about one of the songs on her album and that she put it on her album because her manager insisted. That's not a real artist to me. Just my opinion though.

How does that not make her a real artist? She still writes the songs herself.

What that makes her is a
good businesswoman, it has nothing to do with her artistry. That's literally what songwriters do. They go to writing sessions constantly day in and day out, writing for our faves, and they get rejected ALL the time. I'm sure any top industry writer has tons and tons of rejected demos sitting around collecting dust.
The only difference is they don't have as big of a voice or a platform as Sia, so she can at least still make money off of them. It's a no-brainer. That doesn't make her "not a real artist".
If anything, the real "unreal artist" would be the one who sits back and lets their manager contact songwriters with directions on what they're looking for. All the while the "artist" is laid back in VIP drinking tequila and living it up, while leagues of songwriters slave away in writing camps trying to make them a hit, only to have the artist's name added to the credits last minute.

No shade, that's good business sense too. But if we're talking "real artists" here...
