There is some truth to this argument tho.
Adele has definitely earned her amazing sales... but I think black women who do R&B get shafted a little bit
Same applies to Mariah in a way. Do you think she would have been as successful if she wasn't mixed raced and light skinned? If the rule applies to Adele, it applies to everyone.
adele is more pop than R&B thats why she gets played more on pop/popular radio.
I don't understand why people don't get this It's so easy to understand, it's like some of these black artists are trying to find a reason for why their music isn't selling. Some of the biggest radio hits of they year have been from minorities as they were pop songs which can be played on pop radio.

NOBODY'S music (albums) is selling right now though besides two artists, though.
I tried to start an argument about this in my communications class the other day. I said if Beyonce or Nicki Minaj or anyone in the pop field were a darker shade of black, they would be less successful. nobody agreed and i was yelled at by black girls. I think it's true though.
I knew this was going to be a race thing before I opened the tab. There´s also many white artists singing similar music to Adele who are not selling as much. Nobody is selling as much as Adele, white or black, big or small.
