What is wrong with the actions of the feminists here if they're protesting against something? If you agree that a lot of Islamic countries need equality, then there's nothing wrong with protesting. Clearly you have no idea what's going and came to bitch because you read the word "feminist."
Also, what's wrong with western feminists protesting? There's plenty of improvements that need to made for the status of women in the west. And I don't know why there's quotes around "feminist." They're not some imaginary characters and both of the women weren't of western origin. Again, not surprisingly, you have no idea what you're talking about.

The point of a protest is to call attention to an issue so they definitely achieved something. The fact there's a 3 page thread on a random forum on the Internet shows that it made some sort of impact and probably tons more considering it's being covered elsewhere.
As for Islam being against domestic violence, Islam is against a lot of things, but it doesn't stop plenty of Muslims to behave poorly.
