I’m not sure how my words can even do justice to this album. I hated it, I loved it, I was indifferent to it, and I was everything in between. The throbbing beats and deviant lyrics won me over though. My favorite track is "Heaven on Earth," it just makes me feel so euphoric.
This album spoke to Britney's hardcore fans instead of just pandering to pop radio and I think that's what makes it genius. I especially love the way she taunts and teases in the lyrics and how the producers tweaked her voice and punctuated all the melodies with sound effects as if they were deliberately trying to alienate listeners. Everything about this album just flies in the face of traditional pop music and that’s pretty remarkable considering Britney had more weighing on this album than any of her other albums.
