It's always comforting to know this about a celebrity, I think, because you realize despite the money and security they have they still feel anxious and hopeless like you.

I suffer from anxiety, not as crippling as what he described but it definitely gets me down during the day, afternoon, evening or sometimes all three. Like a weird sense of dread or fear, but I work through it, and attribute to things being less than ideal in my life.

To know that it's felt across spectrums of people is comforting because it makes me feel like my life really isn't all that bad, and it's this disorder that is really messing me up above all.

Being white, privileged and beautiful doesn't mean you're invincible. It just means you don't have to face racism, poverty and discrimination because people think you're ugly.

edit: I relate to Colton because some days I too feel too afraid to leave the house. Sometimes, I only force myself to do it so I can go to work and make money, then I rush home and spend the rest of my day alone in my room. It's hard to deal with.

I've dealt with anxiety my whole life so I know what's he going through. Not exactly his situation but the gist of it. If you really weren't curious one bit if it was his sexuality is a lie.

My anxiety is not that hard, like it's never taken me to the hospital thank God,
but I can relate to a lot of the things he said. He's really brave and inspiring for opening up.

I really appreciate when celebrities speak about mental illnesses like this. It helps remove the stigma associated with them. I suffer from anxiety sometimes (nowhere near as bad as Colton) and it's really comforting to know that there are successful people who share the same fears and problems as me.
