You're not getting the point. If it was cheap, then why don't they offer this to the newly arrived immigrants who are struggling in their first few year or two here in Canada, to help them adapt and adjust to the new life?

Honestly this is excessive. it's very VERY nice but it's excessive and unnecessary.
What Syrian refugees need is welfare, food, a location to sleep, job opportunities, education and training.
Not 50k and free phone services.
However I hope this helps in some way.

So much of their stuff was destroyed, they barely have anything. The way I see it, this is great and I hope that they are able to do it for newly arrived immigrants as well that need it

I'm an immigrant, and my family was offered free sim pre paid card from Rogers that we don't even use.
ALL IMMIGRANTS must have certain financial and educational conditions to be accepted into this country. Most of immigrants have at least temporary jobs after 3 months. We all have many kinds of benefits from the government already, we're not even that struggling to have to use free phone for 2 years.

Your anti-Trudeau attitude is so transparent and it's disgusting that it blinds you so much to see what's right and wrong.

exactly! they're REFUGEES, they have NOTHING! a phone is a very necessary for new comers to start a new life.
