The post I quoted was talking about longevity. And like iTunes, Spotify, and the incoming RIAA platinum certs show, Gaga has more of it than Meth.
It's better to compare longevity since neither have anything new out and comparing their overall digital sales will lead to an unfair Gaga advantage and comparing album sales will lead to an unfair Britney advantage because of the time periods involved.
And "threat?" Your fave has moved fewer album equivalents than Christina Aguilera. Why would we not be threatened by that hasbeen yet threatened by a different hasbeen with a similar amount of success? It doesn't make any sense.
