Looking into this topic over the past weeks, it feels like Turkey is more responsible here but obviously both parties lose from this.

A base doesn't give them the right to invade airspace of another country. And Russia is the one playing a dangerous game, thinking they can fly across the world without even notifying other countries. They are just using IS as an excuse to gain power in the Middle East. They've been attacking civilian villages and other Assad opponents.

And please stop pretending like Turkey is trying to pull NATO into a war. NATO was allover Syria before Turkey even wanted to do anything with it. And it is her, that is how you call a country in political language, right to ask for help when there is a war going on in a bordering country.

and i brought up the point of the airbase being in syria cos you mentioned that turkey's invasion of greek airspace was somehow more justifiable than russia's invasion of turkey's just because turkey and greece is closer?

Idk what happened between Turkey and Greece 20 years ago and How is this effects today's incident but Russia has been warned lots of times, so they shouldnt act like they didnt expect this to happen.

Just look it up on Google Maps it doesn't have anything to do with them being closer. But a land border is different than a water border and those Greek islands are literally in Turkish harbours. Plus I remember Greece expanded her water borders a few years ago without asking anyone for permission and without considering how it effects Turkey. This was nothing but provocation from the Greek side and them trying to limit freedom of another country. I don't see why we are pitting Turkey against Greece anyway since Turkey literally never had problems with Greece. And please tell me what Turkey is doing in Greek airspace. Do Turkish planes attack targets or harm anyone in Greece? No. So it should be obvious that the situation on Syrian border is not comparable with the situation on Greek border. That sentence about calling a country she wasn't directed at you.

Turkey invades Greece's airspace daily and Russia it looks like was in their airspace for mere seconds and killed their pilots. Imagine if Greece's reaction in those situations were as heavy-handed as Turkey's has been here - Ankara would've even have a damn air force!

Absolutely disgraceful. Erdogan is a dictator and his country has no place in the EU or NATO. Kick 'em out!

Seriously guys stop acting like Turkish Air Force is flying over mainland Greece everyday. Greece and Turkey are on both sides of a sea and they should be able to share it fairly. How Greece is trying to limit Turkey's airspace by using the Greek islands is unfair. What is the delusion with Greece's military power though Saying if they reacted aggresively Turkey wouldn't have an air force. As if... Check out how it went on Cyprus before you make such assumptions and stop acting like Greece is a relevant military power.

That said stop trying to make it look like Greece and Turkey would have a problem. I don't know where this hate comes from but I would think people on ATRL would know better than pitting countries against each other and talking stuff which sounds like they're coming out of mouth of someone who is bitter because of the past.
