Adele is crushing Janet Jackson's comeback album -- and everyone else's for that matter -- on the charts, but Janet's longtime collaborator says don't hand Adele the crown just yet.
We got legendary producer Jimmy Jam outside Staples Center, and to be clear ... dude has a ton of respect for Adele and the record-breaking success of "25" -- but he didn't back down when it came to defending Janet's "Unbreakable" album. Jimmy's bottom line -- it's not ONLY about how many records you sell right now, and there's still one category where Adele can't touch JJ!
You can watch the video at the source but he actually wasn't shading Adele.Too summarise:
He likes Adele.
On her out selling everyone: "thats a good thing..for everyone"
When asked if it is over for Janet: "Over..it just started."
When asked if Janet will catch up with Adele's sales: "Its not about sales. Its about career. Lets see if Adele can catch up with Janet's career."
This type of journalism is beyond pathetic and stupid. They're literally pitting Adele against Taylor, Janet and any other female in the music industry. She only wanted to put an album out so we could her what she had to say, she didn't want to compete nor care about succeeding and shattering records.
