DMX was the bigger rapper of his era. from 1998-2003 he had a 5x, 4x, 6x, 3x and platinum album.

Many rappers were barely going platinum if platinum at all
Ricky martin was massive ushering in the latin pop explosion.
But not every latin pop artist sold over 5M albums.
