It's honestly just about practicing. I only managed to learn how to see them because I was 12 and determined enough to see one of these stereogram posters my teacher had up in the class. It's hard to help but the best way I know how to explain is that you are trying to look past the picture or through it. The visual image you are trying to see is 3-d and pops out towards you as if you were wearing 3d glasses. It will still retain the pattern of the original image (which will now be "behind" the 3d image).
If I didn't know how to do them, none of that above would probably make any sense so my apologies. Just know it's really badass and easy once you learn how to see them.
