Actually I kinda sensed the opposite. There is a part of the fandom that is idolizing Snape, and there is a part of it still hating a lot over him. J. K. is just saying that he's been a terrible person but at the same time he choose to fight for the good in the end, while in everyone there's light and dark. I don't know why people always need to cross a definitve line between good and evil. There's no such thing in life. Life and people are shady. Like Dumbledore, James, probably even Lily. In the end we all have good and bad in our own. In the end what really matter is standing for the good. Snape didn't do that in the very beginning, but only in the end. People do too much on him, both hating and idolizing.
