In truth Siri wasn't that innovative at all at least for me

I only use her maybe once a year to see what type of crazy **** she might say

I find it really useful browsing this website when it comes to looking at image and gif links as I can just peek at the image and keep scrolling without having to open the image on a new tab

It's much faster than opening apps for certain features and preview links (if the Wi-Fi connection is good ofc).

OMG i had to disable her alltogher. All the hype about it being better then GOOGLE Now is blasphemy. Google now is actually useful and i used her daily.. the number one reason i miss android. Siri did somewhat push the trend of voice command to another level, lets be honest. Google had probably been working to perfect this but Apple was the first big co to do it so publicly.

Very useful feature. Help to avoid nonsense or to do certain things easier without opening the whole app.

i feel like im in a twilight zone. How is it actually doing all those things? "Opening this faster/not have to open image on other tabe" i mean what does that even mean? Just cause you force/remind yourself to use it because it's mandated as the next best innovation doesnt mean you have to program yourself to believe this.

The most embarrasing thing about Siri is that it doesn't allow google map integration. Siri is only integrated with APPLE Maps and inferior apple alternatives. I wouldnt have removed siri from settings had id have an option to chose a better alternative.

since im in a rant, wth 3rd party keyboards are flops on ios and glitchy and chrome on ios is trash. .this is awful

If I'm on my mobile on a thread and someone posts a img link, instead of having to click on the link, wait for the tab to open, then to close the tab when I'm finished looking at the tab, I can just press into the link so a preview of the image/gif pops up, and when I'm done just let go of my finger. I know it's only a little thing but it's so much easier

My case was a little more specific because it let's you skip some steps (opening app, wait for it to load, select the option you want, etc) and therefore makes it much easier and faster to execute certain actions.
But I have to agree with you because sometimes I too forget about it and know I'm not using that feature to its full potential (which some apps don't even support it yet).

I love it. I can switch apps really quickly now by just swiping hard on the screen, which is a lot more intuitive than double-clicking the home button. Also really useful for previewing things instead of leaving what you're doing.

Once you use the 3D touch features for a week or two, they become second nature and you forget there was ever not 3D touch. I tried to switch apps on a friend's 6 today and was lost for a second when it didn't work

3D Touch is incredible. Especially for browsing this website on mobile. You can easily "peek" into gifs by clicking the link without actually going to whatever website they're on

i mean but you use mobile on your iphone? whats the point to having an industry leading phone if your on a mobile layout of a website .. Data limitations?.. quick preview an image vs just seeing the image to begin with? Um ok


So the general consensus is 3d touch is ATRL GOLD. But, remember gals, you can only use safari to preview the images on mobile rather then desktop/full site.

You use ATRL desktop version on your phone? It's the pits due to ATRL's layout. And quick previewing an image is only necessary because ATRL's mobile site is so terrible. Luckily, it shouldn't be an issue after the upgrade since (at least from what I've seen), ATRL will be switching to a responsive design.

Anyways, I don't think it's "groundbreaking" but it's really useful and something that I see all smart phones eventually integrating. It seamlessly worked its way into my user experience, and that's how all new features should go tbh. I don't need flashy stuff.

I use it but not that much.

I use it for the camera icon, viewing messages and the music app. It's very useful in the music app.

But I can live without it.

I don't really care about peek and pop but I find it really useful when typing. I can put the cursor precisely where I want it to be by 3D-Touching the keyboard, and that matters a lot.

I have never used it. I don't know when I would. But of course it's awesome. It's all about the user experience. Plus it's not even 6 months old yet. More and more apps will use the feature.

I can't wait for the next life changing thing Apple brings us
