That applies to any artist before 2001. lol. Y'all do wayyy too much.
Madonna's TIC only sold 5.7 million through SS btw. And is 10xp. I think it sold 2-3 million from those clubs.
Shania only sold 15 million of COO but is 20xp bc she sold many millions from those clubs. Mariah hasn't scanned more than 7.5 million of an album but has 2 diamond records. lol.
It literally applies to everyone. You also have to remember that Soundscan didn't even cover 80% (maybe 85, can't remember exact number) of all sales in the year 2000. It was at like 50 or 60% of all sales when it first came into existence in 91.
Everything was very iffy before things got real accurate with advancements in technology.

Once you catch up to season 2 everything will make SO MUCH sense. We still have a lot of unanswered questions but the overall picture of the show is pretty much set right now.

I love YLM but yeah it's not as catchy as Adele song.
"I Am" is still my favorite ballad from Bionic. It's flawless.
Legend needs a strong mid tempo for her lead single. She could still score a hit and decent album sales IMO but the chances are slim, lol. She's a mess.

Albums only had certifications that crazy before Soundscan. And I don't think Club Companies existed before Soundscan. They were like only a 90's thing.
But that's why many albums from 90's have certifications millions higher than what they actually sold. They weren't actually sending 3 million copies too much to stores, it was just sold through Club Sales.
-
Every artist had it, but Bernie Jean stans were doing something else going OUT OF THEIR WAY to include the BMG/Sony sales in her overall total when they shouldn't be included.
Then coming at Gaga for the 99c sales ALL the time...

3. Taylor Swift - 1989
$6.99
The only way she could "compete" (i.e. not get completely left behind) with Adele was a deep discount.

I'm listening to B2B now.
Her best album. Ugh. Why wasn't Slow Down Baby the 3rd single?! I love Candyman but she was a mess for releasing it.
And the masterpiece "Understand".

Nobody cares about your stories of going to buy your Baby One More Time CD in 1999 when you got out of College.
Was just telling what Club Sales were. Sorry Bernie's getting dragged.

Interesting that she discounts it now.
Taylor will be fine, though. It's fun to drag her with Adele because she seemed so unstoppable but her going away will do her very good. She can probably come back in fall 2016 now and slay again whereas just a few months ago it seemed like it would be way too much too soon.

She's done incredibly this year and she hasn't promoted 1989 at all in 2015.
