No, WFL had a weird structure to it when it was released in comparison to all other songs that were out at the time, but it smashed, this song is bad and theres no trying to sugarcoat it, its awful

Verse, chorus, verse chorus, no bridge (due to lazyness) but a break instead, final chorus.
It's simply a bad song I'm not very fond of it...plus , it sounds more like a song that would get played in clubs rather than a radio hit , anyway so no wonder it underperformed ... I even hated it when I first heard it
Not an ounce of promo. It's really that simple. A couple big production performances would have given her another top ten and perhaps even another #1 album if they stretched it out to have some closer to the album release. She didn't even have to go overboard with the promo. Just this would have been great.

That's all that was needed. I'm not a stan but I loved this song and the album it came from and it hurts to see them done so very wrong.
No promo at all. People will tell you it's because the song sucks, but it got good reviews from critics and, regardless of quality, the song almost went top 10 on the sheer power of Britney's name opening week. The GP was absolutely here for a new Britney song, but Britney did nothing to let them know it's coming out or keep longevity going after release. If she performed, it'd do better
It didn't flop though, just underperformed. Going #12 or so isn't a flop
1. It's not the best song in the world
2. The dance-pop trend was on the way out when it was released
3. Britney struggles to get radio support these days no matter what
4. The song seemed loosely based on Scream & Shout with the talk-singing
The song will go down in history though, since it was parodied in an episode of South Park. South Park is a hugely popular TV programme and millions of people all over the world watch it. People will still be watching the Work Bitch episode in 10 years time.
South Park (and Family Guy and The Simpsons) parody A LOT of things. Not everything they parody "will go down in history."
