I'm a history major as well, mind you. Have you spoken to the people who are going to be affected by this law? Have you asked them for their opinion? Speak for yourself when you make statements like "You should be as free as your hair babe." That's your idea of freedom. This might mortify women currently wearing the burqa. Have you thought about how they will move forward from this? Selfish, arrogant and stubborn. You promote hatred and intolerance.

Burka is not a clothing. It's literal suppression of a person's body.

I don't find it offensive at all. If you look at the majority muslim countries in South East Asia especially, Niqab and Burqa are not being worn - infact, it is unusual for muslims there to wear it. Hijab is already sufficient to begin with. But of course, there are different beliefs in Islam.... So I guess i'm in no place to say anything.
