My theory is still that she plays an adult version of Scarlet in the last couple of episodes who goes to hunt down the vampires in Buffy's style, who has trained herself and learned everything about the ancient virus for years, who seeks revenge on what mostly the Countess did to her family. Who's even sure if John Lowe doesn't end up as a ghost or if Alex gets killed by the Countess during Episode 10 or so?
