Ravindu Thilakawardhana, a medical student at Leicester, was kicked off his course after making a Liam Neeson-esque style threat towards another student in October 2013.
The outburst was reportedly in response to another student posting revealing pictures of his friend on Facebook. Thilakawardhana retalliated by posting a photo of the Taken star captioned with the threat “I will look for you, I will find you. And I will kill you” adding “I don’t want to see you on a night out in Leicester, or in the UK”.
Thilakawardhana was in his fourth year of study at the university when he made the career-shattering post on Facebook

They better have kicked that other student out too then Their priorities need to be re-evaluated, if they're removing kids for making meme jokes but allowing people to post revenge **** on facebook

Mess, medicine students have to pay the full fees for those first three years too. Not him getting kicked out once they stopped charging him tuition fees
Wow that sucks. Do they not realize that it's a joke?
If you're a professional (or going into a professional career) it's important that your social media isn't messy, it's such a rudimentary thing to know.
Although I think the student could probably appeal.
Well saying "I will kill you" isn't...eh, appropriate to say
Especially if you work for the NHS, they are extremely strict regarding social media activity. The University Seniors and GMC board are probably comprised of older people who don't know about this meme so of course they are gonna read it as a legitimate threat. They probably think that he has a lot of mental health issues or something
