My mum bought me a espresso machine for Christmas, I ordered it though, do any of you have espresso machines and can you tell me if they are a good investment, it was £129.99 reduced to £74.99 and what can you make with them (I know you can make cappuccinos, lattes, mochas, espresso etc.)

Obviously the best coffee in the whole world is a "flat white" that I see Starbucks has now butchered and turned into a latte.

"Flat white" is a double espresso shot, with frothed milk with .5mm microfoam into a tulip-sized cup. Small, strong, but milky. Do a class, I did a 3hr class and learned plenty about making coffee. So many baristas are so bad. I feel bad for America, they don't know about coffee.

Nespresso machines are good too, but I'm not overly crazy about their prices for pods and the one I bought (smaller singular pods) is only espresso sized so if you want an americano you'll have to hit the button for hot water yourself.

I know the DeLonghi are a good series too. A guy I've been seeing has the $1,300 one and it does it all if you're really into coffee that much I suppose but even the deal you got for thay is good.

Well I use to go to Starbucks everyday, and I would spend $5 bucks a day, Mon-Fri.

One week is $25, one month is $100.

I sometimes go for a second run, but minimum is $100. The baristas all knew me too and would even have my drink ready before I even got to the counter.

However, after I bought a Nespresso machine I saved so much money. The machine itself was $300, and their coffee for some reason makes me awake so fast. Their caffeine content must be high. And I think they sell like 12 capsules (1 capsule = 1 coffee) for like, $12 bucks, so I'm basically spending $1 on a coffee everyday versus $5.

You can get coffee of that quality for very cheap at the supermarket in those coffee satchet packets. I always get Nescafe's caramel/hazelnut/vanilla late ones, they're so good as if they're from a coffee shop (and I hope Nescafé enjoys this free promo).

Truth be told I love coffee so much, I'd die if I had to give it up, although I've switched to decaf coffee as ordinary coffee was giving me a very sore stomach but decaf alleviates that.

A good espresso machine is a must for any self-respecting adult.

I've noticed I drink coffee more often than tea. Didn't even like coffee when I was younger.
