For some reason Twitter has NEVER been a thing in my area. I know in other parts of this giant ****ing country a lot of teens use it 24/7 but literally no one here uses it. It's all about snapchat + instagram.
yes, it actually is. they're having trouble effectively monetizing ads compared to facebook that's done a really seamless job so their $$$ is drying up. i'm sure general use is probably going up though since all the major social media platforms are currently growing in users.
lol nope. It's been the main social network for a couple of years.
In what world?
Maybe this was the case back then, but the main social network at the moment is undoubtedly Instagram. (Facebook probably has it beat WW)
A little bit. It'll always be there like Facebook is now but it'll never be as dominant. Instagram and Snapchat kind of rule now. Showing everyone what you're doing and (in Snapchat's case) it "disappearing" after.

In this world. Twitter remains the queen. IG is cute for pics and previews, though but Twitter for everything else.

Ads are drying up in general though. Ad revenue is way down this year for a number of companies not just Twitter.
Don't really know anybody in my social circle in Sydney that uses or has ever used Twitter. I've always thought of it as more of a U.S. thing.
Facebook, Instagram & Snapchat are where it's at. I find Twitter to be more for professional/Marketing use - but even then it's reach is limited compared to LinkedIn or Facebook. I think the anonymity & the trolls are off putting. It's layout is also confusing & messy af.

Actually that's not true at all. On twitter you can literally reach millions of people through retweets and followers. You don't have that same luxury with FB and Instagram being only people you're friends with.
I don't feel like Twitter is going to drop in popularity anytime soon..
But I do feel that Instagram will eventually take over it in popularity in the future.
