She only had 2 big hits which are Roar and Dark horse, those songs were big.

However her other 3 singles flopped. Why did this happen after having like 7 smashes with TD??

It's not like the quality declined (LFN is a terrible song for example and Part of me is bad)

Two of her largest hits. Not too shabby. It was a strong era and this is coming from someone who dislikes her.

That video of her dressing up as the gay clown ruined the era and scared off the young audience

Unconditionally was a boring follow up to Roar, people aren't really here for that Katy

And tihwd is a tragic mess that was doomed from the start. It's always been my fav on Prism tho

Uncle was a terrible second single. Plus, all her live performances of the song got bad press.
Birthday was overshadowed by Dark Horse and had a awful music video.
TIHWD was just bad. A bad song.

She ruined her own potential. She released one of the worst music videos in history for Birthday. It's literally unwatchable, even the lyric video has more views.
Then she thought it was a good idea to release This Is How We Do as the final single

Birthday and TIHWD are bottom 3 of her videography. At least Birthday the song is cute, TIHWD is just tragic. The 2 biggest mistakes of her career.

She sabotaged the era after Dark Horse smashed

She should've followed DH with either Ghost, Spiritual or It Takes Two.
Then Legendary Lovers, Walking On Air and Love Me.
