I was so surprised as the lack of attention to the Wiz on NBC. granted their previous efforts were nowhere near as spectacular, I was still just baffled by the lack of interest in musicals on this forum.
Then i thought Maybe its because we did not have a thread to discuss. So here it is
Lets talk about, shows you have seen, been in, want to see.
Are any of your faves in a current production on stage
Any musical Movies upcoming, to Television or Film
Or just want to reminisce about the classics
So as of Now we got the smash Hamilton, ongoing on Broadway, literally sold out since it came out and all the way up to next August.
Check it out yall
Also in January we have Grease Live airing
Staring Julianne Hough, Vanessa Hudgens and Aaron Tveit Keke Palmer, Nick Jonas, Carly Rae Jepsen
Finally we have rumors of Wicked finally being made into a film
I'm here for this thread. I've never been to New York or London (I will get my ass over there once Hamilton opens on the west end tho) but I love musical theatre!
This year I saw the Dutch production of Billy Elliot twice and the UK tour of Priscilla Queen of the Desert when it did a few shows in Amsterdam. Billy Elliot was fantastic and the Dutch cast was really strong. It really resonated with me and I cried both times I saw it. Priscilla was really fun! Hopefully I'll get to see some more musicals next year, I'm definitely seeing Beauty and the Beast, Sweeney Todd and Pippin (the current US tour) but I hope I can make a trip to London to see some shows over there.
I saw 'Beautiful: The Carole King Musical' and 'Newsies' on Broadway in 2014, and they were amazing shows. I hope to see 'Matilda' and 'Fun Home' in the near future.

Billy Elliott, is one i always wanted to see,
I was suppose to see a school production way back but missed it.
The only thing I've seen this year was Once (West End), which was good. Had the album for a while before. Saw Matilda on Broadway and Book of Mormon in the West End last December. Both amazing, of course.
So gutted I haven't been able to catch Dogfight or Bare live, yet. And it'll be a struggle to. Two of my favourite soundtracks.
I need to check out Hamilton. Heard positive feedback but nothing that explains wtf it is. And the music sounds very In The Heights in the clips above.
Did anyone see Gypsy with Imelda Staunton on BBC 4 last night? I thought it was a great production and Imelda was everything. I wish I could have seen it live!
