I think the main principle behind the experiment applies to all social media.

I genuinely think we'd all be better off without it. Yes I know that ATRL sort of counts as social media, but as a whole it's really destroyed genuine communication between one another.

Nothing new there. Most people only post the good things in their life on Facebook. Hell, even if they post "Sitting here alone with my cat and I smell bad" and you'd still feel left out. It's just weird
