I disagree. The extreme racism he mentions where someone thinks a race is better/preferable is rare, but the prejudice he mentioned is rooted in racism. Seeing a big, dark-skinned person walking down the street and feeling threatened as opposed to a small, white person is so obviously rooted in racial attitudes.
I do agree that actors are powerful and so are public figures/media in general. There's a "Koreans react" to Indian celebrities video and the reactions from them demonstrates this. Most of the Koreans were so surprised by the actors because it didn't fit their stereotypes. One of the Korean boys basically said
we never get a chance to see this stuff in the media so we don't know other people can be like. Basically 5 minutes changed some of their ideas. It's so powerful. Unfortunately not many people are interested.
