It doesn't matter who wrote the constitution. It matters that the candidates know whats in it and their position on the issues.

This speaks volumes about the standards Republicans have now; a neurosurgeon who doesn't believe in evolution or climate change, never had any political experience, has tragic foreign policy grasp, claims the Affordable Care Act is the worst thing since slavery, claims the reason the Holocaust happened was because there was no gun control and claims that being gay is a choice because criminals leave prison gay, is now not expected to know the very basics of American civic knowledge. Ladies and gentlemen, the Republican party of the United States of America.

Although it's kinda deplorable you want to run a country based on the Constitution and you don't know who wrote it, it's not like knowing or not will improve his policies. It's a non issue in that sense but it gives us a clue about how much he really knows about our country's beginnings

These are the real issues... knowing who wrote the constitution is of no consequence to anyone one way or another. Knowing what is in the constitution is the issue. you are talking right past everyone. It's of no concern one way or another. Most people couldn't tell you who wrote the constitution 200+ years ago... or name all of the amendments in it off hand. That is not a requirement. The goal of the constitution the way it was originally written is to get people from varied backgrounds to represent the people of the US. Right now it's just a bunch of people (usually 50+) who haven't held down a real job in awhile.
