A baby girl burned to death after she was put in the oven by one of her siblings when their mother left them home alone.
J'zyra Thompson's two three-year-old siblings told investigators that one of them placed the 19-month-old in the oven before the other turned it on to make it "hot".
The baby desperately tried to kick the oven door while inside but could not escape, according to court documents seen by ABC News.
J'zyra was one of four children left alone by their mother and her boyfriend in a Houston apartment on Monday 16 November.
The pair apparently failed to tell the children's grandmother - who lived in the same apartment block - that they were leaving the youngsters unsupervised.
J'zyra's mother attempted to resuscitate the toddler when she returned but the child had already suffered fatal burns.
No charges have yet been filed against the child's mother or her boyfriend but prosecutors say criminal proceedings are expected to be launched. (Read the full article)
