When there are no indications that the warplane has hostile intentions like in this case, there are other ways how to deal with such situation, like using the F-16 fighter jets to escort the warplanes when they are near the borders, flying along the borderd to prevent other planes from entering your airspace etc. instead of using the F-16 to shoot the plane down for 5 seconds in your airspace, especially when the plane already left. This was a clear act of provocation from Turkey, who feels strong when backed by NATO, which needs Turkey right now.
