Music News: Kelly Rowland Close to New Record Deal, Readies Third Album

Kelly Rowland has been in and out of the studio prepping her first album since parting ways with Columbia Records and Mathew Knowles’ Music World Entertainment earlier this year. One of today’s most sought-after hitmakers, Rico Love, spoke to Rap-Up.com about his involvement with the Destiny’s Child alum’s third solo album.

“I’m actually going to be doing the majority of her record,” reveals the songwriter behind Beyoncé’s “Sweet Dreams” and Mario’s “Thinkin’ About You.” “I did three records for her album so far and she’s touring right now.”

The host of Bravo’s “The Fashion Show” won’t have much downtime during her holiday vacation as there are plans to complete the follow-up to 2007’s Ms. Kelly by January. “I believe we’re going to finish the album over the Christmas break,” says Love, whose latest work includes Leighton Meester’s first single “Somebody to Love” featuring Robin Thicke.

Rowland is reportedly close to finalizing a new deal with EMI Music, home to David Guetta, LeToya Luckett, and Snoop Dogg, but an official announcement has yet to be made. “I believe she’s doing her deal right now. She’s in the process of closing a pretty big deal. I don’t think she’s going to say yet. She’s got the No. 1 song in the world with David Guetta, ‘When Love Takes Over.’”

Her latest gig comes in the form of playing 50 Cent’s love interest in the video for “Baby by Me” off the rapper’s new album Before I Self Destruct.

I't s so obvious that she didn't want a career, i mean she didn't care that much to take control of her career earlier, when she had the time...

Why is it always Matthew's fault?? She's not her DAUGHTER!! and he's not her MANAGER!!

No, it's not "so obvious" that she didn't want a career, it's "so obvious" that Matthew didn't devote himself to her the way he did with Beyonce. And it was Matthew's fault when she was under his guidance. We all know what kind of lengths he goes to for his daughter, but he should be doing that for ALL his clients (including his OTHER daughter).

Matthew was sabotaging Kelly and Michelle from day 1. Bey got all the leads, the best dance steps, the hottest outfits, the best wigs, etc. That obviously transferred into their solo careers, too. Beyonce got all the hottest tracks, best video directors, promotion - everything. And yes, Matthew was all of their managers. And technically he IS Kelly's father, last time I checked he adopted her.

Matthew is Beyonce's father so, ofcourse u would want your daughter to succeed before you start making things happen for somebody else's daughter... Kelly could have seen this coming, i mean what?, she didn't know this would happen. Matthew to choose her over Beyonce? ********! Again maybe it was really hard to push two artisist with the same sound on the same label, and both coming out at the same time.... SO he chose his daughter ofcourse.......
P.S. Both Kelly and Beyonce had the same sound when they first started working on their solo careers.

Give me new music Kelly R.!!!!! I don't know about EMI, does anyone remember Letoya Lady Love era they messed it all up. So I don't want that to happen to Kelly but if they can give her the David treatment I'm good. Kelly bout to take over!!!!!
