I think the graphics definitely can't hurt, but creativity, thoughtful choices, and good writing are probably the Golden Trinity of traits to have in your entries.

If you give me a great explanation, your songs are somewhat synced, AND you have a solid theme (can't stress this enough!) you'll do fine.

I think Buddy already covered the bases, but I would look for creativeness, applicability to the challenge, and how creative the entry was. To be honest, I would give someone points if they did something creative with their formatting (not just making it look pretty, but actually making it a part of their entry), but you can be creative without that and it's always appreciated!
