I have 1 hr free I'm gonna rewrite my 2nd verse for more imagery and hopefully submit. Changed my stupid "president" line. My song is to do with recent events in the world and my own personal experience. Here I'm going for emotion >>>>> imagery/metaphor but I need to balance it a little more evenly.
Posting my song in here in hope that others do the same so I can gain an arbitrary sense of self-worth based on how much I like y'all's songs!
Quote:
Intro - Chorus
One day we’ll be nothing more than dust
Faded like dawn in the stars of dusk
The sins of others no more than a dream
Our transgressions floating downstream
Pain is a mystery, haunting and real
But once the sun rises, we all start to heal
Verse
No words can warm a heart cold as steel
Only time can convince you that your loss is real
The cold ice of winter will melt in a rose
And the gates of heartache will finally close
Chorus
One day we’ll be nothing more than dust
Faded like dawn in the stars of dusk
The sins of others no more than a dream
Our transgressions floating downstream
Pain is a mystery, haunting and real
But once the sun rises, we all start to heal
Verse
Meadows can grow from our violet tears
And erase our visions of sorrow and fear
The bridges we’ve burned can rise from the ashes
And connect the hearts of those with compassion
Chorus
One day we’ll be nothing more than dust
Faded like dawn in the stars of dusk
The sins of others no more than a dream
Our transgressions floating downstream
Pain is a mystery, haunting and real
But once the sun rises, we all start to heal
Bridge
In the eyes of darkness we shine brightest
Refract the grief and make light from darkness
Towers of memories may crash to the earth
But where life is lost we find what we’re worth
Chorus
One day we’ll be nothing more than dust
Faded like dawn in the stars of dusk
The sins of others no more than a dream
Our transgressions floating downstream
Pain is a mystery, haunting and real
But once the sun rises, we all start to heal
