War Dragons developer Pocket Gems has announced the release of Mean Girls: Senior Year, a new interactive story available within the Episode app. The story is based on the popular Paramount Pictures film Mean Girls, and was written by Kirsten Smith, the writer of Legally Blonde and 10 Things I Hate About You.
In the story, users become a new student at North Shore High for their senior year. Users have the goal of attending a great college, which only accepts one student per year from North Shore High. The problem comes when they discover Regina George wants to attend the same school. Users will compete against Regina for the spot, and will interact with characters from the original movie, like Cady, Janis and Damian, along the way. Users will also meet a potential romantic interest, which can add more drama to the story.
As an interactive story, users can make choices throughout the experience which change the way things unfold. Users can also choose outfits for their character as the story progresses. While the story is free to read, it’s monetized via premium story and outfit choices, which, if purchased, can also impact the outcome of a particular conversation or chapter.
Mean Girls: Senior Year is now available in the Episode app, which is available for free on the iTunes App Store and Google Play. The story will be released as a standalone app at a later time.
