the biggest difference is that Lana is an actual artist. like her material or not you cannot deny that there is art and passion behind her records and it's genuine. Whilst Halsey is a mimicry type artist. she heavily copies from a select group of artists and re brands it as something it is not. The mimicking is OK but to try and come off as this deep artist when your material is not based off of genuine emotion but actually based off of a calculated collage of other ppl's work and emotions is whats wrong.
Despite all the embarrassing things she's said and done, I still think there's a creative aspect within her. She just doesn't tap into it enough because record labels and the thirst for success.
OK we know she's just a big rip-off of Lana and Sky, but some of the points in this video are so dumb. Like the Lost In Translation thing, I caught that as soon as I saw that MV and it's no biggy, she's just drawing inspiration from a great film. Lana got her whole National Anthem look from Priscilla Presley (and Jackie Kennedy of course), but does that mean she's a copycat? No, she was just inspired by her.
