I'm listening to Rated R and on Stupid In Love she says "even though Katy told me..." And I was wondering if she was referring to Perry or if it's just a generic name thrown out there? I don't know if she was close with Katy back then or what the purpose of that name being in the song is so I just wanted to ask you guys

I don't think it's ever been confirmed, but it's most likely KP. On Brandy's version she says a different name so it makes sense theoretically.
