I mean, let's be real. Adele serves a purpose. And she serves it well.
People LOVE Adele. Across all genre and gender lines. She's non-threatening. Artist like Madonna or Beyonce may be big, but they're also threatening. They represent an anti-archetype, they're powerful and sexual and popular. So there's always some reason for people to hate/criticize them and challenge their artistry and careers as a whole.
Adele is safe and universal. Artists like Bey and Madonna are never truly universal because not everyone is going to love them because not everyone likes their messages as artists.
