The governors of at least 24 states have announced they will not accept Syrian refugees. The states range from Alabama and Georgia, to Texas and Arizona, to Michigan and Illinois, to Maine and New Hampshire. Among these 24 states, all but one have Republican governors.

Only 1,500 Syrian refugees have been accepted into the United States since 2011, but the Obama administration announced in September that 10,000 Syrians will be allowed entry next year.

In announcing that his state would not accept any Syrian refugees, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott tweeted Monday on his personal account, "I demand the U.S. act similarly," he said. "Security comes first."
I mean believe what you will but i just hope Obama respects the independence and solidarity of these states and not further incites things by attempting to force it federally.
I agree with this. It's impossible to background check everyone and there would be less casualties if you kept all the refugees out instead of letting potential ISIS threats in.

What's the purpose of allowing these refugees inside anyway?
Giving refuge to the innocents. Problem is, Syria doesn't keep records (not like Assad would give them to us anyways) so it's far too risky. I'm glad Ducey said no in my state.
This is quite sad, but those of us who are against these arbitrary decisions will be accused of being SJWs and the usual garbage that right-wingers love to spew.
Several acquaintances of mine have been circulating the "article" below in social media. Misinformation and right-wing propaganda at their best.

I'm aware. Was hoping there was some constructive reason behind it. Why are they letting in refugees of a country that they're attacking? Makes no sense
