Like... if Lana or Lorde were to have this opportunity, they wouldn't do it?
Lana and Lorde had been at fashion events. Lana even has a handbag designed to her name by Mulberry. However, these two don't pretend to be a part of an underground music revolution and rebelling the mainstream. They know their place.
Halsey needs to STOP acting like she's above the mainstream when she IS the mainstream. She should actually be happy that she's becoming a bigger star instead of denying it and trying to still use that poser anti-pop star gimmick. Like, why wouldn't you want more fame and money? You're in the music BUSINESS.
i guess that makes lorde a sell out for putting together the soundtrack for The Hunger Games and performing at the AMAs
The thing is that Lorde doesn't parade around one message and do another. That's what selling out is. It involves going against your morals you set yourself, which Lorde hasn't.
She's claims to be some indie, non-mainstream star but then aligns herself with all these mainstream brands.
A "Halsey - brought to you by McDonalds tea".
If there's one thing I know, it's that indie artists wouldn't be doing this
So a indie artist (obviously she isn't one) wouldn't take the opportunity to perform at a Channel event?
Okay

Okay
But SHE'S the one painting herself as one. Clearly she isn't one, but SHE puts that label on HERSELF and that's why she's in this problem in the first place.
